Through our efforts to fight breast cancer, we have joined with other Carpet One Floor & Home stores through the US and Canada raising funds for the American Breast Cancer Research Foundation with the sales of our Pink Ribbon Welcome Mats! 25 % of the proceeds go to this fine effort. And to further our contribution, we have participated in Westland’s American Cancer Societies “Relay for Life”, Detroit’s Making Strides for Breast Cancer and this year 2009’s Race for the Cure in Downtown Detroit. Over the past two years alone, Independent Carpet One Floor & Home has raised over $10,000 in support to Fight for a Cure! We welcome you to join us!

April 19, 2008 was proclaimed by Westland’s Mayor William Wilds to be National Green Select Day. Making a change in the world and making environmentally responsible decisions requires a group effort and we’re in this together with our community by adopting and cleaning Curtis Woods Park on Palmer Road in Westland. This year’s National Green Select Day is slated for Saturday April 18th. Please join us in cleaning the park and other fun initiatives throughout the afternoon.
